Maybe I will try to find another program to do the text bit instead. Finding a bunch of possible ones, figuring out how to validate them, understanding the results of the validation, finding one that works and then returning to the t-shirt-design-process seems overwhelming. But since I know nothing about fonts, I have been scrolling through GIMPs list and trying them out one-by-one. Trying to pick one that would look good on a t-shirt design based on some simple criteria. I am a bit challenged on several levels though: I am a font ignorant. The two 'Thin' fonts and the two 'Black' fonts are missing. Inkscape only shows 8, and the name in the Face column is sometimes wrong: 'Thin' is actually 'Light', and 'Black Italic' is actually 'Italic'. Odinbc, I am sure the font validation tools you link would be a good way to screen the fonts in gimp for errors and then try to find one that works with paths. There are 6 different font weights, so there are 12 different styles including the italic styles. In other words, I have no problem recreating the effect! I updated my GIMP to the newest stable version, by the way, when I begun getting this problem. that uses vector graphics fonts, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and Inkscape. I tried out a new font just now and got a particularly wonky one that I thought I would share. Capturing the true color of an object requires using some form of. Also, it's inconsistent in the sense that changing font size or letter spacing gets me new and exciting artifacts every time. Thanks both! I'm not sure about "consistently", since I did manage to get ONE bit of text that looked ok. This is very unusual and the first time I've seen this.ĭoes this happen with other fonts of the same size?Īlso does this same kind of error consistently occur? I've tried to recreate these errors, but couldn't.
